WELLNESS WARRIORS: SILVER LAKE RESORT REVIEW

I’d love to share my experiences during this trip to keep you informed in case you’re considering visiting these places! The first stop I’d like to review is Silver Lake Resort, located in Kissimmee, Florida. I stayed there from November 19 to November 22, and I’ll break down the pros, cons, and my overall impression. Let’s dive in!

The Positives

  • Spacious Rooms: The rooms are quite large, providing plenty of space to relax.
  • Stunning Pools: The resort’s pools are breathtaking and a definite highlight.
  • Friendly Staff: The front desk team is kind and welcoming.
  • Well-Stocked Gift Shop: Their gift shop offers more than you’d expect—better than some convenience stores!
  • Decent Parking: The parking lots are fairly new and well-maintained.
  • Not Overcrowded: The resort isn’t overly booked, which means you can enjoy a peaceful environment without dealing with large crowds.

The Negatives

  • Check-In/Out Times: Check-in is late, and check-out is early, which feels like you’re losing valuable vacation time.
  • Temperature Control Issues: The shower temperature was problematic. One guest mentioned they couldn’t set a comfortable temperature—it was either too hot or too cold.
  • Uncomfortable Sofa Bed: The pull-out couch was sunken and uncomfortable.
  • Challenging Entry: To get into your room, you must go through two closely spaced doors, which was inconvenient, especially with a wagon.
  • Timeshare Presentation: The timeshare meeting was misrepresented. It lasted from 9:30 AM to 1 PM, felt high-pressure, and included intrusive credit checks. If you decline to buy, the staff’s attitude changes quickly.
  • Poor Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi was terrible. Even though I understand vacations are for relaxing, if a resort advertises Wi-Fi, it should meet basic guest needs.

Final Thoughts

Was the trip worth it? It was okay for a short getaway, especially since I didn’t pay full price. However, I wouldn’t return or recommend this resort to others. It wasn’t the worst experience, but it didn’t leave a lasting positive impression.

If you’ve stayed at Silver Lake Resort through Capitol Vacations, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Share your experiences in the comments below.
